“Southern Blues-Rock” from Maastricht – The Netherlands

The Liberators are a Dutch blues-rock band with roots going back to 1979. Their sound blends blues, rock and soul with a strong emphasis on groove, dynamics and live interaction. Over the years, the band has toured extensively across Europe and released music through labels including Polydor, Phonogram and GMR Music. Their 2020 album “Troubled Mind” was nominated among the best blues albums in the Netherlands. In 2026, The Liberators return with “One Take”, a live-recorded album featuring new interpretations of songs from earlier releases. Recorded in a single take, without overdubs, the sessions capture the band as they sound in the room: raw, spontaneous and driven by improvisation. The addition of keyboardist Coen van Dam brings Hammond organ and piano into the heart of the sound, giving the songs a new dimension.
